Mervin Gallant

Rev. Mervin Gallant is the newest member of the staff team having arrived in the summer of 2012. Originally from the Miramichi of New Brunswick, Mervin received his Master of Divinity degree from the Atlantic School of Theology in 1985 and has ministered in Saskatchewan and Alberta for over 27 years. Mervin was in ministry most recently at St. Andrew’s United in Lacombe, AB where he began his focus with children and youth ministries nine years ago.

A passion for exploring meaningful and experiential faith formation with all ages is a major driver in Mervin’s ministry but he is particularly passionate about helping children and youth develop a faith base that will inspire hope and confidence in addressing the realities of their lives. In addition, Mervin joyfully shares in worship and pastoral care opportunities with children, youth and seniors.

 

Rev Sally Boyle 

Rev Sally will be with us for a one year term working in transition ministry. Sally has extensive training in Intentional Interim Ministry, which is a specialty conducive to this type of ministry

The transition minister will work with the ministry personnel and staff to determine the overall administrative pieces of work and determine together what is best done by the ministry personnel, what is best done by a paid admin. person, what is best done by a paid program coordinator and what is best done by volunteers from within the congregation.

The transition minister will also work with the committees and church Council to explore new ways of working together in community in order to ensure that the volunteer base is given the best opportunity to offer their gifts to the mission of the congregation.

or the transition minister to work most effectively a group of 5 people referred to as the “Transition Team” will be named to provide support, direction and wisdom to the overall ministry.

 

Margaret Ward-Jack

Our Music Director, Margaret Ward-Jack, is an experienced music teacher, choir director and performer. She holds an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto in Vocal Performance, Bachelor of Education and Arts degrees (music major), and a Diploma in Vocal Performance from Vancouver Community College. She has performed with the Vancouver Opera Chorus, Vancouver Chamber Chorale and Theatre Royal at Barkerville, B.C.

Margaret is currently in her second year as director of music at St. Albert United Church. She coordinates all of the music programs offered and directs the Senior Choir.

 

Donna Graham

Donna Graham is an Elementary School teacher in the inner city of Edmonton. She has a passion for children, music, and sharing her faith with others. Donna is on staff as our organist/pianist. She has extensive experience in the United Church as a music leader for workshops and conferences.

Donna works with our Music Director, Margaret Ward-Jack, accompanies the Senior Choir, and provides music leadership for Sunday morning worship. Donna also plays for weddings and funerals as time in her schedule allows.

 

Rita Jensen

Rita Jensen is our Administrative Assistant. She is the friendly voice on the phone and the one to see for all your church bookings. Rita prepares all the worship bulletins for Sunday morning worship, as well as for weddings and funerals. She enjoys the creative challenge of producing our Grapevine newsletter each week and she helps other staff in promoting upcoming events.
