PASTORAL SUPPORT AND CRISIS CARE

When we observe the ministry of Jesus revealed us in the Scripture, a lot of his time was spent caring for, healing, and listening to people. Jesus was, among other things, a caregiver. Our Caregiver Group attempts to be responsive to expressed needs for  the sick, the dying, the lonely and others who simply want to talk. This is an important aspect of caregiving in our congregaion.

Another important aspect of caregiving finds expression within the congregation itself. Newcomers are welcomed, cards of sympathy sent, calls and visits made. The staff are available with a listening heart and ear to well-established members, new folk and people who are 'on the road' and drop in mid-week to talk with someone over a cup of coffee. In our own imperfect way, we try to be Christ to others.

"...for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me..."

 Matthew 25:35
