FAMILY MINISTRY
We strive to make St. Albert United Church a place where all families feel welcome and nurtured for who they are and according to their needs. We strive to do this in a number of ways.
Sundays
All members of the family will find the Sunday experience to be an engaging one, accessible for all ages. There are two options for parents with young children: we have a nursery with a certified caregiver for children between 3 month and 3 years old; the rows at the back of our sanctuary have a bit more leg room for parents who would like to keep their little ones with them. Following our "Time for All Ages" older children and youth engage worship based on their gifts and needs, in Beginners, Kids' Praise and Youth Worship. Older members of the family may want to take advantage of our hearing assists and large print hymnals. We also have a lift to our upstairs "Friendship Hall" and an accessible washroom on our first floor.
All Ages Worship
Several times through the year we have worship services planned with all generations in mind: Rally Sunday in Septemer, Thanksgiving Sunday in October, Pageant Sunday in December, two youth-led worship services and Celebration Sunday in May.
Family Activities
There are a few activities planned throughout the year specifically geared to family participation:
Family Epiphany Celebration in January, Family Games Night, Pizza and Palms in April, Loonie Lunches and the Family Weekend at Rundle's Mission over the Victoria Day Weekend.
