Sharing God's Hope: Message for Baptism of Jesus Sunday 2012

Baptism of Jesus Sunday acts as a bridge between Christmas and the Season of Epiphany. We reflect as we do in Christmas on who Jesus is and what his mission was to be, and we reflect as we do after Epiphany on how he calls us to continue his mission in the world. The baptism of Jesus as Mark tells it is a Christmas story. We learn that Jesus is set apart as God's anointed servant. But at the end of the story Jesus comes back to Galilee and invites others to share in his ministry. He continues to call us to share God's hope. Read more at sermon.120108.pdf.
